The Shadows interest
The Shadows interest came after the Norwegian Shadows Festival in Oslo 1999. I had earlier only played Apache on my keyboard and my dad had a "best of" CD that I sometimes listened to.

In April 1999 I was up late and watched TV. I often was "ready" with the VHS recorder in case something interesting came on the screen. Suddenly on a talkshow I discovered a band with red guitars who played a tune called Istanbul. That was magic and amazing. This was The Beatniks - old Shadowsband from Norway. I was really excited and luckily I pushed the record button!

The Beatniks was on the bill at The Norwegian Shadows Festival 1999 and me and Lars-Erik went to Oslo to watch The Beatniks! But there were so much more to watch at this festival. A young Norwegian band from Stavanger called The Reflections was playing, and suddenly an elder man with silver grey hair entered stage. They played with red stratocasters and making funny dance steps to a tune called Shadoogie! This was magic and after seeing Bruce Welch I became a huge fan.

After this magic day I was excited on guitar instrumental music and bought records of Shadows. And the three following years I experienced more Shadows Festivals with Jet Harris, The Rapiers and Bruce Welch's Shadows. Since 2002 I have also been a regular visitor to Shadowmania in Frimley, Surrey. In 2002 I met Hank Marvin for the very first time on his (first) final tour. I have also been to Stockholm and Isle of Wight to see Jet Harris in concert.

In 2004 something happened that no one dared to believe; The Shadows Final Tour! Then the hollidays was planned to UK. I joined the four last concerts at The Shadows Final UK tour, and with the final concert with Cliff in London Palladium 14 June 2004. A dream came true; Finally I saw Bruce, Hank and Brian together on stage!

In 2005 it happened again: The Shadows Final European Tour! I visited five shows; three in Oslo and the show in Aalborg and Brussels.

The
Young Ones from Beiarn - future Shadows generation
One of my missions is to keep the Shadows music alive in the future. I am happy to see so many Shadows band playing around, and especially young bands like The Young Ones from Norway, The Vintage from Sweden and The Foot Tappers from UK.
